A series of drawings designed to explore the inner reality of anxiety and its impact on the body.
Artworks serve as a method of observing and depicting reality processed through emotions and thoughts. When an intrusive thought is present, the world becomes an unreal and disturbing place. In my drawings, I tried to convey the feeling of claustrophobic tightness inside the body, to create a hopeless situation in which there is no room for logical thinking. Anxiety manifests itself, among other things, in the form of heat and tightness in the chest. Many people automatically shallow and quicken their breathing during a stressful experience. This way of breathing further increases tension in the body and mind.
Negative thoughts and physiological symptoms appear in the form of symbols.
The snake – a dangerously beautiful animal that evokes primal fear.
Urban and farm birds – creatures from the sky, leading miserable lives in the trap of human civilization, amid filth and disease, and the prospect of imminent death.
Fingerprints – instead of facial features, emphasizing the universality of the experience of fear.
